Time Bandit talks about scammers pretending to be conducting a census on behalf of the government, the evacuation of those living around the American embassy here in Qatar, and a shop that’s been fined and closed down for 30 days for raising it’s prices without the correct authorisation.
It’s Thursday the 5th of March here in Qatar.
I have 3 short bits of information for you this morning.
Firstly please watch out for some nasty villains pretending to be conducting a census on behalf of the government. From what I can gather, you may be approached quite possibly at home by people saying they are conducting a census on behalf of the government, and they are collecting personal information from you including biometric data.
Quite probably to access your bank and steal your hard earned cash.
The advice seems to be not to give them anything.
But as yet I can find no clear instructions on what you should do, or how you should report them if you do get approached.
Please comment below if you have any further information on this subject.

Next up, people living close to the American embassy here in Qatar are being evacuated as a safety precaution.
Which makes complete sense having seen the news regarding American embassy’s elsewhere in the region.

And finally a shop has been shutdown and given a one million riyal fine for illegally increasing their prices at this time of crisis.
Personally I’m thankful to the government for helping prevent companies from profiteering during troubling times.
I just wish they would give us the name the offending businesses, so that I can choose not to give them my custom even after they are allowed to reopen.

Bye for now
