Hello everyone, today I’m going to be talking about binning Microsoft Office, Eid celebrations here in Qatar and Ozempic day 13.
Let’s go through those. So first of all, binning Microsoft Office. Actually I’m binning everything about Microsoft. I’m going to stop using it completely. I only have Microsoft Windows installed on one laptop now and that laptop ceases being supported by the end of this year by Microsoft. So I’m going to be nuking that laptop and I’m going to be putting Linux on that laptop. So that’ll be by by Microsoft on that machine. The other product I use of Microsoft is of course Microsoft Office, which everybody uses. But my subscription has just gone up from 90 pounds a year to 120 pounds a year. And for me, that’s just greedy. I don’t use the power features that they’re charging me for. I don’t want the power features. I don’t want co-pilot. I’m quite happy with DeepSeek. And yes, I know it’s Chinese and risky. I don’t care. I’m tired of paying Microsoft exorbitant fees. I don’t want to renew my subscription on the 24th of this month. And so I’m switching to LibreOffice, which is open source. It’s free. It works on all platforms, Windows, Macs and also on Linux machines. So I can use it on all those platforms. No more subscriptions, no more licenses. And I’m really looking forward to binning Microsoft completely and just forgetting that Microsoft even exists. So that’s my challenge in the coming weeks. I’ll keep you updated on that one.
Next up, I want to talk about Eid celebrations here in Qatar. So I’ve been out at night in Doha and my goodness, is it busy?
Everywhere is busy. Everywhere. The traffic is incredible. Getting from anywhere to anywhere is a complete nightmare.
Souq Waqif is almost impossible to get into. Katara, forget it. You’ve got to work so hard to get to where you’re going. But that’s not what I’m moaning about. Well, I am moaning about that. But that’s not what I’m talking about today. What I’m talking about is all of the people that I saw out last night in all of those locations, all of those people were having a great time. And even people that don’t very often get to these places, you know who I’m talking about to see so many of them out, enjoying themselves, the smiles on their faces. You could see they were having a fantastic time and it warmed my heart to see. So I’m back again tonight, by the way, I’m in Souq Waqif and I’m in all of the places I just mentioned. And I’m not looking forward to the traffic.
But seeing all of those people enjoying themselves, having a great time. I honestly, it warms my heart. I’m glad to see them out.
And it’s a lovely thing. Anyway, moving on from Eid celebrations, what was the third thing? Oh, Ozempic. It’s Ozempic day 13 for me. And today I am weighing in at 129.9 kilograms. So I’ve broken 130. I’m now below 130 kilograms. And it means in the 13 days since I started taking Ozempic, I have now lost 4.8 kilograms. Not bad in 13 days, 4.8 kilograms.
I’m loving the Ozempic. It’s helping so much. I still have to eat properly and I still have to do that exercise. But my goodness, is it working out for me? I’ll keep you updated with the Ozempic as we go. Watch out over the coming days for more on binning Microsoft.
And also I’ll keep you updated on my Ozempic as we go as well. That’s all for today. Bye bye.
