My Vlog Mon Mar 31st 2025

Whew! I’m looking a little bit sweaty here because I’ve just finished my 40-minute walk in Hazam Al Makiya Park. I didn’t even know this park was here until about a week ago and it’s right next to where I live. So I’m absolutely delighted that I found this place and it’s wonderful to be able to go for a walk in a nice safe park where there’s… When I say safe, I don’t mean I’m in danger of getting mugged or anything. I mean safe in the sense that there is shade, there is benches, there are toilets, there’s a water fountain. So it’s safe for me to walk in it without being stupid and collapsing with heat stroke like I did last year. So when I say safe, I don’t mean I’m in danger anywhere else. Qatar is the third safest country in the world. So it’s nothing about personal safety. I mean, I’m safe from my own stupidity because last year I pushed myself too much and I literally made myself unwell. So it’s safe because I can come here. It’s nice. It’s bite-sized. It’s got all the facilities. And going back to what I was saying, one of the nicest things that I love about Qatar is that the parks are free. You can use these parks. It doesn’t cost you a penny. They’re beautifully manicured. They’re beautifully looked after. And they’re absolutely free.

Now I know in our neighboring countries parks are something you’d have to pay to go into. So I think it’s absolutely amazing and most commendable of the Qatari authorities for providing such awesome facilities completely free of charge. Well done, Qatar.

Right. I could have walked home now.

I’ll catch you tomorrow. Bye bye.
